CRDVI introduces a harmonized framework for approval requirements applicable to material transactions by European banks, which is generally presented as a form of deregulation in The Netherlands compared to the existing approval requirements for these types of transactions. In this article, I more closely examine the regulatory prudential framework for mergers and divestures by Dutch banks going forwards.
